Sideways is a two-day festival at Teurastamo, Helsinki with wide variety of good music, food, drinks and various sideshows – the best of what Helsinki has got to offer in two days!
LINE UP & SCHEDULE
Festival area is open Friday 16.00-01.00 and Saturday 14.00-01.00.
Sideways reserves the right to make changes to festival line-up, performance days and set times without notice whenever necessary.
2 day tickets – 95€
1 day ticket (Friday or Saturday) – 65€
Two-day tickets will be exchanged into wristbands which allow you to leave and re-enter the festival area any time. With a one-day ticket, you’re only allowed to enter the festival area once.
International customers can buy tickets from Festicket.
The age limit to Sideways is 18+. Make sure to have your ID with you just in case and remember to book a babysitter well in advance!

Very important: Finnish volunteer insurance cover only people who have a permanent recidence in Finland. We are happy to invite international volunteers but please check that your travel/personal insurance enable working in Finland.
Sideways is located at Teurastamo and Tukkutori areas in Kalasatama, Helsinki (Main gate address: Sörnäistenkatu 3-5, Helsinki, Google Maps link). The festival area has a very limited parking space, so we highly recommend you to use public transport, a bicycle or your feet.

Walking distance from Kalasatama metro station is about 500m, and Sörnäinen metro station, bus and tram stops are also just 800m away. Distance from the Helsinki city centre to the festival area is 3km.

Please remember to respect the local residents and avoid littering in the neighbourhood yards.
There is an optional cloakroom with a 3€ fee per customer.
PAYMENT AND ATM
In order to speed up the payment situations, we recommend using cash. Most debit and credit cards are accepted in restaurants and at points of sale. There is no ATM at the event area, the nearest one is located at Sörnäinen metro station.
Photographing using professional cameras for private use is allowed, but remember to respect the privacy of other guests. Some artists may have photo policies of their own, so please follow the guidelines given by the security. Video recording without permission is prohibited.

Sideways area is flat and mostly asphalt which makes it easy to access in wheelchair. There are also wheelchair-accessible toilets. An assistant does not need a ticket of their own.
DRINKS AND SNACKS
You can bring one unopened max 0.5 litre plastic bottle of any non-alcoholic soft drink or a small carton juice box to the festival area. It’s also fine to bring with you an empty bottle for water refills – there are water points around the area. Please note that it is not allowed to bring any kind of alcoholic beverages to the festival area.
You are welcome to bring with you reasonably sized snacks such as bread, fruits, candies, crisps etc. Please keep in mind that there are several good pop up restaurants in the area where you can enjoy delicious food from pizza and burgers to falafels, tacos, Asian food and many other (vegan/meat options available).
Please note that it is forbidden to bring any alcoholic drinks, glass bottles, guns, knives (or similar tools), fireworks and other dangerous objects to the festival area. Umbrellas are not allowed as they block the view to stages. Also, please leave picnic chairs at home, there are benches and terraces in the area.
We recommend you to bring your own ear plugs, but you can also buy them in the festival area.

Lost property will be delivered to the Helsinki police station after the festival.
