Featuring a line-up of the best national and international indie acts, paralleled by an elaborate range of exciting, mind-blowing and fun sideshows, Sideways Festival is a true haven of creativity and an absolute must-do for the music aficionado who loves to indulge in diverse food offerings, quality drinks and experiences that are not found everywhere else. Sideways is the best of what Helsinki has got to offer in three days!
We are located in the center of Helsinki, and Sideways is the only big music & arts festival in Helsinki area in the beginning Summer. Every year we present nearly 80 live acts plus entertaining sideshows from music trivia competitions to art exhibitions or 80’s arcade games to skateboarding sessions.
Also the restaurant selection is superb – we’ve chosen some of our favorite street food vendors from Helsinki area.
Nowadays we are located at Nordis in Töölö district in Helsinki – including Eläintarha park areas and Helsinki Ice Hall’s surroundings. Main stages are located outdoors, and there are also three stages inside the Ice Hall – after the sunset the festival continues indoors until early morning.
Even though we have been growing steadily every year, Sideways is still a cozy boutique festival – we’ve got plenty of space to chill and hang around without long queues or massive amount of people.
Below you’ll find some of the basic information of Sideways 2019. In case we’ve forgotten something important, feel free to send any questions you may have: firstname.lastname@example.org

Sideways’ accreditation form will open in spring, usually around April.
The Sideways festival site is mainly asphalt/concrete pavement. There is a wheelchair accessible platform close to the main stage (Sideways Stage) and Black Box. The platforms have limited capacities.
In addition to outdoor venues, part of Sideways’ programme is organized inside the Ice Hall. Every single indoor stage is accessible with a wheelchair, but routes to stages may differ from other festival goers. Everyone is still able to come and watch the Black Box concerts as well as performances in the Basement and in the 2nd floor of the Ice Hall.
The info stand can be found right after the entrance to the festival. We recommend that festival goers that use a wheelchair or people with other disabilities get a leaflet from the info stand, where, for example, the routes and accessible toilets are clearly pointed out.
Customers with wheelchairs and people with other disabilities, (f. ex. people who are visually impaired) need a ticket to the festival but their personal assistant can get in without a separate ticket.
There are accessible toilets in the toilet area. A sign will be located on the door of the accessible toilets, and it allows people with disabilities and toilet passes to pass the possible line to the toilet.
We are happy to answer any questions considering this matter: info@fullsteam.
