First time ever Sideways Festival promotes also a pre-party at the festival week, where American bedroom-pop singer-songwriter Alex G performs at Tavastia on Tuesday 6th June. We have tried to get Alex G to perform at Sideways for a while, but there has been some schedule difficulties. But as a pre-party before the Sideways, the artist's first gig in Finland works perfectly!
 
Alex Giannascoli came to the attention of the general public at the latest with his third self-published album "Trick", which was released in 2012 and collected more than 200 million streams. The album, which contained honest raw guitar sounds, combined a relaxed lofi aesthetic with indie rock. In recent years the artist has become very popular on TikTok as well.
 
Giannascoli's ninth album, "God Save The Animals", released last fall, cruises even more boldly in the flow of different genres, from electronic sounds to folk tones. It received rave reviews all over the world and earned e.g. Pitchfork's "Best New Music" rating. During his career, Giannascoli has also collaborated with e.g. With Japanese Breakfast, Frank Ocean and most recently Lil Yachty on his brand new album "Let's Start Here".
